A powerful 6.7 magnitude earthquake struck the southern Philippines on Friday, according to the US Geological Survey. The quake, with no tsunami threat, originated off Sarangani province in Mindanao, at a depth of 78 kilometers. While there were no immediate reports of casualties, the tremor was widely felt across Mindanao. Keeshia Leyran, a 27-year-old in Davao City, described it as the strongest quake she’s experienced, noting panic among the attendees at a large event she was at.
