live video of TON performing In Praise Of Bacchus in the Bizzare Festival in ’99 04/16/2010- RIP Peter Steele, I wish that you didn’t have to leave us as young as were and especially when most music nowadays is derivative and bland. Peter, you were an incredible songwriter and you placed passion when in came to music whether it be in the studio or when you’re performing live for millions and millions of fans. There aren’t too many bands that matched this intensity that Peter showed toward his music. Peter, thank you for getting me through the worse periods of my life: for getting me through my early teens, a period for which i was teased for being timid, quiet and socially awkward, getting through my depression and cousin’s death and many other family deaths to follow, for getting me through my break up in senior year. Peter you taught me that not all men are insensitive jerks, but there are men, like you, who are not afraid to get in touch with their darkness and express it. You inspired to express my own darkness through my poetry when I held it back due to the fears I had of looking like a freak in front of other people. In short, thank you Pete, for the 9 years I have known and cherished your music. I may not have been able to meet you or see perform live ( I wil when I get to the other side!), you played a very important part of my life for so long. This is not a so long, but more like see you in awhile. So until then. Rest in Peace, Peter Steele, you’re performing with the rest of the rock gods now.
