The Greatest Russian & Soviet Bard Music (English Translation) | Лучшие русские, советские песни

Although much of Russian music tends to be a dated copy of Western fads, a big part of this playlist represents the tradition of Soviet bard music. Developing after the Khrushchev Thaw, it was recorded on bootlegs and tapes to be passed around without the permission of the authorities. Many Russian bards were working-class people with minimal musical training.
