Rose Apple | Syzygium jambos flowering at the farm

Hello everyone, today we are looking at the rose apple tree (Syzygium jambos) that is flowering at the farm. This tree was planted 6 months ago and it is an air layer from a productive rose apple tree. The rose apple is apart of the Myrtaceae family which includes delicious fruits like Jaboticaba and Surinam cherry. This rose apple planted under the canopy of the larger oak trees but still receives a great deal of afternoon sun. It looks like it is setting fruit on a few flower buds but I will keep everyone up to date if it decides to fruit. For more tropical fruit content follow my Instagram @Garden_Florida
