Large and close red sprite lightning burst visible to the naked eye . Oklahoma 4/21/2019

Video of the really bright sprite the other night . Southern part of a series of bifurcating sprites along a small but hyper active squall line in Central Kansas. I finally had all the gear up and running and the sprites were getting really active- so I decided to watch the skies for a while. After about ten minutes of watching this happened.. Even though they are very quick- when bright enough it seems they can be seen. Coincidentaly , this shape of sprite has been the one I saw out of the corner of my eye back in November. I have a suspicion that this shape and the increased brightness are connected. Sprite brightness is thought to be attributed to the charge moment change of the parent lightning stroke. The CMC is derived as the product of charge transfer and the vertical distance over which that charge is transferred -measured in coulomb‐kilometers or C km. (I.e. the taller , more powerful bolts produce brighter sprites.) -Thanks to Mike Oneill for helping me get my head around the lightning characterist
