Clamshell Box - Part 6 - Assemble and Finish

The spine strip is covered, the box is assembled with a standing press. Smaller boxes can be finished, preferably, in nipping presses but also with weights (passive pressure). The aggressive pressure of a press will insure a tighter bond and will also squeeze any trapped air out of the space between the case and a tray. In any case, don’t leave the box under aggressive pressure longer than 10-15 minutes, the fabric may become compressed and shiny where the pressure is greatest.
