Ecology: Thousands of birds have died near the Sambhar lake in Rajasthan’s Jaipur

Birds in Sambhar Lake are dying because of mysterious reasons. Over 1500 birds have died so far in the biggest inland salt water lake in the country. The forest department is unsure about the cause of these deaths says Sanjay Kaushik, assistant conservator of forest, involved in the current case. “We received complaints about the dead birds on Sunday from tourists visiting the lake,“ he said.
