Francis Aubry runs through the dedolight Lightstream system: the components which makes up the system and how these works together.
There are 3 components to the Lightstream system:
(i) the light source – a focussing dedolight is ideal for this
(ii) Parallel Beam Intensifier – this is a lens which attaches to the front of the dedolight and increases light output by 500%
(iii) Reflectors – These comes in 5 different types, each with different reflective capabilities. The light output from the dedolight with Parallel Beam Intensifier is shone into reflectors and then directed wherever the cinematographer chooses
This video shows how these components work together, with multiple reflectors in combination with the other components of the system.
Lightstream provides an alternative way to light, and produces a natural quality of light which is difficult to achieve using traditional lighting techniques.
