Not only is it set to the only somber ballad of the new album, but filming indoors in a film studio was a new experience for us. Working with Ivar (as Aun) and Per-Arne (as Odin) was an absolute pleasure, they both did an amazing job portraying their characters and we couldn’t have asked for a better duo. May you all enjoy this tragic tale as much as we enjoyed filming and playing it!“ Backstory: King Aun dreamt of eternal life and to rule forever. Thus he made a deal with Odin; to sacrifice a son every tenth year in return for a prolonged life. After sacrificing ten sons, he would name his kingdom “Tiundaland“ (“The Ten Lands“). Yet, Old King Aun failed to perform his tenth sacrifice, as death came for him. With “Urfader“, Grimner returns with fire and power. This time, they have added the metal to folk metal. Their roots and influences of Swedish death metal and their love of heavy and power metal is weaved together with enchanting folk melodies and pagan choirs to create their own unique sound once again- all sung in their native Swedish, as always.
