Wenches and Mead 2021 | Animated Music Video

Every two years since 2011, I’ve animated the chorus of this song, set to my character Atom Smasher swigging a drink, to show off the progress I’ve made with my art and animation. I feel like by now this exercise is a bit limited in how much it shows off what I’ve learned - a lot of my recent development has been in things like post-production and visual storytelling, which doesn’t really come across in a 20 second drinking clip - so I figured it was time to retire the tradition. There will not be a Wenches and Mead 2023. That said, I couldn’t think of anything else to animate this year, so given that it’s the tenth anniversary - god I’ve been doing this for ten years - I figured I might as well send it off with a bang.
