The Sound of Music (1965) - ’Escape’ (“They’re Gone“) scene [1080p]
The songs in this classic linger in our memory long after the film has ended, but there are a few moments of orchestral score in there too. Irwin Kostal was responsible for the Oscar-winning score, and here he fittingly moulds parts of the song “So Long, Farewell“ into action music for the escape scene.
Starring Julie Andrews, Christopher Plummer, Eleanor Parker, Richard Haydn, Peggy Wood, Charmian Carr, Marni Nixon and Evadne Baker. Directed by Robert Wise, with celebrated songs by Oscar Hammerstein II and Richard Rodgers. Music conducted and arranged by Irwin Kostal.
