Staring at her now, with Oz, was heartbreaking. Gil saw her. He went after her; following her into a place between the Abyss and the real world. She would take him. At least that would be one person less that Alice would have. But when she kissed him, a flood of memories came pouring in; memories of a past with him in it. For just one second she felt whole, and that was dangerous. In the Abyss a whole person could break, but a broken person could survive. She pushed him away, letting her soul fall back into the Abyss.
