Authorities urge residents not to go outside due to severe flooding in Guayaquil, Ecuador Natural disaster 21 February 2024. Guayaquil, one of the cities most affected by heavy rains in the past few hours, experienced thunderstorms and strong winds. The risk management and security control company of Guayaquil reported incidents of water accumulation, flooding, fallen trees, and structural collapses in the recent hours. Rural parishes of Guayaquil such as Tenguel and Posorja were also impacted by the rains. Authorities are assessing the extent of damage and providing assistance to affected areas. Residents are urged to stay indoors and follow safety guidelines amidst the ongoing severe weather conditions. Naturals hazards in 2023 have become more frequent.
