Here And There (1930)

No title. L/S of large group of men moving very large tree trunks. Closer view. Intertitle reads: “As heavy as iron and nearly as strong.“ About twenty men use long poles as levers to move a long tree trunk. Various shots of the men at work. “Eventually it will be made into Mah Jong Tiles.“ This sequence presumably shot in China. The men run along railway tracks pulling large logs on trucks. “Here’s a curious way to dig up a living“ M/S of two men in a small strange looking boat who pull themselves across a river by a string. “Salvaging resin thrown into the Sandy River by Southern troops during the Civil War. ...Bluefield, Va.“ Virginia, United States of America. Man stands on the edge of the boat and throws a rope into the river. “Submerged for 68 years it hasn’t changed a bit and may yet be of use to musicians, plumbers, acrobats and prize fighters.“ Large lump of resin is pulled out of the water. Was probably an item in Pathe Pictorial issue number 611 with retitling. Note:
