The King of Saxony Bird-of-Paradise’s Courtship Freakout (Papua New Guinea)

The male King of Saxony bird-of-paradise has antennae-like plumes that are twice as long as its body. And its excited mating calls sound less like sweet twittering and more like an enraged alien. No wonder early Europeans thought these birds came from another planet. Filmed in high-def in West Papua. Collaboration: Cornell Lab of Ornithology.
