O MORRO, recorded live during the 2021 closing concert during the 2021 Brazilian Music Institute at the University of Florida with special guests, Jacaré Brazil, and the Brazilian Voices, with Beatriz Malnic, Loren Oliveira, and Viviane Neves Welson Tremura, director, guitar, and vocals; Larry Crook and Kenneth Metzker, percussion; Clyde Connor, drums; Erik Abernathy, electric guitar; Rafael Abdalla, bass; Trenton Class, electric piano; Scott Wilson, EVI; Todd Wright, saxophone; Randy Lee, flugelhorn; José Valentino Ruiz-Resto, flute; The Jazz Age was a cultural phenomenon that originated in the US but soon made its way across the world. This year’s event will focus on the multicultural influences of Brazilian music and its interaction with jazz, among other topics. The classes and training will be delivered in a workshop format with a concluding concert that will feature UF students, guest artists, and faculty.
