God Save the Tsar (Russian Empire National Anthem) | Kalimba Cover With Number & Letter Notations
God Save the Tsar (Russian: Боже, Царя храни!; transliteration: Bozhe, Tsarya khrani!) was the national anthem of the Russian Empire (1721–1917) from 1833 until the end of the monarchy.
The song was chosen by Tsar Nicholas I (1796-1855) from a competition held in 1833. The composer was violinist Alexei Lvov (1799-1870), and the lyrics by the court poet Vasily Zhukovsky (1783-1852). Upon hearing its beautiful strains for the first time, Nicholas I clasped the composer’s hand with tears in his eyes and uttered: “Splendid!”
God Save the Tsar remained the Russian Empire’s national anthem until the February Revolution of 1917, when Tsar Nicholas II forced to abdicated, ending Romanov dynastic rule and the Russian Empire.

The arrangement is an adaptation of guitar arrangement by Andrei Sychra (1733-1850), played as a tribute to the Romanov royal martyrs.
