I tried to cover Karnivool’s cheesiest song

Thank you for watching! Long time, no see / сheesed to meet you! (sorry) I hope that this attempt at a bass cover is enjoyable. Roquefort is by far the heaviest song on Themata, and one of the heaviest Karnivool songs to date. (Definitely the cheesiest one) The main riff here is just very fun to play! Production on all Karnivool’s albums has always been amazing, so, making this cover, it felt almost wrong to rebalance the entire mix like this. Please keep in mind that this is just just an interpretation and not an exact transcription of the original bass part! This version sticks close to the original, but uses “struck note“ technique to add accents in certain parts. One of the major the major changes is that the walking chromatic bass part in the break (0:38-0:53) section is swapped for a tapping part, that underlines the vocal melody. I’m not entirely sure that I prefer this, but I think it creates a nice texture that vocals can sit on top of. What do you think? For this cover I used a rather “long“ lens; and in general, I’ve updated my recording setup for these covers. I’m not super experienced with shooting on such glass - let me know if this feels too weird or if the “compression“ effect from such a lens makes the frame feel claustrophobic. I’m not that great at editing still... sorry! Please let me know your thoughts in the comments - I genuinely appreciate all them! Sincerely, _TV P.S.
