Woodturning - Ebony and Cherry Square Oriental Box

The first true woodturning demonstrations that I ever watched on YouTube was Jimmy Clewes’ turning a square oriental box. I tried my hand at turning it and it was mildly successful. I ran across one Jimmy’s demos just the other day so, I thought it would be fun to try this project again after gaining 2 years of experience and add my own flair to the design. Let me know what you think of my attempt in the comments! Jimmy’s demos: The wood is kiln dried cherry with an ebonizing solution applied to the bottom. The solution reacts with the tannins in the cherry and causes it to oxidize and turn a dark brown, almost black. The finial is made from East Indian ebony. Then the entire thing was finished with Hampshire Sheen Danish Oil. I had a sticker swap to catch up on as well.
