France: Spectacular air show honours Normandie-Niemen regiment

A spectacular air show showcasing classic soviet planes paid tribute to the Normandie-Niemen air regiment in Compiegne, north of Paris, Saturday. Assisted by historians and Russian collectors, the Circle Flying Machines (CMV) organised a reconstruction of the 1944 Battle of the Niemen River from which the regiment earned its name. Various planes, tanks, guns, vehicles, and motorcycles from the era, including three fully restored Yak-3 aircrafts, were presented to the public. Attendees had the opportunity to see soviet posters and listen to music from the war period.
