Franklin ‎- Life Circle 2009 (recorded in 1971-1974) (Spain, Psych/Progressive Rock) Full Album

One of the most notable in the Spanish rock underground, which was going through a formative stage in the late 60s and early 70s, was the Madrid group Franklin, which had the difficult fate of playing and composing its favorite music during the dictatorship of Generalissimo Franco (who endured couldn’t rock). The founding fathers of the band, who performed their songs in English, were guitarists Pablo Weeber and Antonio García. In the mid-70s, the composition of the team changed. It is known that the musicians released two singles: “Satisfaction / Border Song” (1971) and “What’ Wrong? / Lasidore-Mifamire“ (1973), recorded over a dozen more compositions, broke up in 1972, then got back together (Franco in 1973 just handed over his post to his successor, who was successfully shot, and in 1975 he himself the former dictator passed away), but after a while they again went their separate ways, finally disappearing from the sight of their fans in 1976. Only in 2007, employees of the small label “El Cocodrilo”, specializing in publishing Spanish pop music of the 60s, were able to extract archival master tapes from somewhere, including not only the above singles, but also previously unrealized tracks and even a concept album prepared in 1975 but never released. As a result, 15 works by musicians were restored and published as a double compilation “Life Circle”. Unfortunately, the collection was released in a limited edition; they claim that only 500 copies were printed. Tracks: Franklin 1971-1973 01. Satisfaction - 00:00 02. Border Song - 05:30 03.
