Battle Of The Convoys (1942)

Dusk falls and the convoy’s guns open fire on enemy aircraft. Depth charges are laid and then we see them exploding. The following day the convoy keeps up the barrage. L/S of explosions way off on the horizon as shells find their mark. L/S of Fleet Air Arm planes returning to carrier after battle. Various shots of guns of the Alexandria convoy go into action when attacks come from Italian aircraft. L/S of explosions near the ships from the falling bombs. On board a ship while repairs are carried out and the crew set to and push the capstan by hand while a fiddler plays a jig. Back with the Gibraltar convoy where the accompanying warships start to lay a smoke screen around the merchantmen. Various shots of convoy guns in action. L/S of an Italian torpedo p
