Fish - Blind to the Beautiful Official Video

Scottish singer and songwriter Fish has unveiled the striking video for his new single ’Blind To The Beautiful’. Featuring breath-taking imagery, much of it courtesy of Greenpeace, the video shines a light upon the huge ecological disasters that climate change is already bringing to the world. The unfolding scenes of melting glaciers, flooded lands, hurricanes, scorched earth and tragic human devastation is balanced by some spectacular shots of the natural world, reminding us of what we are losing in our relentless quest for progress. The video also features some specially shot footage illustrating the fact that humanity has become blind to the beauty of our planetary home. Some of these segments feature Fish’s daughter Tara and include a touching moment with her mother, Fish’s ex-wife Tammi, who famously also appeared in Marillion’s landmark video for their biggest hit ’Kayleigh’, almost 30 years ago. A deeply moving ballad ’Blind To The Beautiful’ is one of the finest songs Fish has produced; the mark of an artist maturing through the years with more and more to say. It features backing vocals from Elisabeth Troy (featured vocalist on the new Clean Bandit single ’Heart On Fire’ the follow-up to the huge smash hit ’Rather Be’), and violin by Aidan O’Rourke who has just been named Musician Of The Year at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards. The single is released in two formats and available to pre-order on iTunes from today: VERSION 1: ’Blind To The Beautiful’ (radio edit) / ’Blind To The Beautiful’ (live from Karlsruhe), ’Blind To The Beautiful’ (demo version) VERSION 2: ’Blind To The Beautiful’ (album version) / ’A Feast Of Consequences’ (live from Karlsruhe) / ’Perfume River’ (live from Karlsruhe) ’Blind To The Beautiful’ features upon the album ’A Feast Of Consequences’, which is being released in the UK on April 28th. A remarkable collection that is being hailed as the finest of his long and illustrious career, it was produced by Calum Malcolm (The Blue Nile/Prefab Sprout). A deluxe version of the album with a 100 page hardback book containing over 80 original illustrations provided by Mark and Julie Wilkinson together with a 3000 foreword by Fish and all the album lyrics is available in a slipcase with the album, a 24 bit FLAC code and a “making of“ documentary with live concert footage is available on mail order exclusively through his website - Early reviews have been outstanding, with critics raving about the breadth, drama, musicality and emotion on display throughout the album. “Moving and thought-provoking... a vivid, confident album that stands shoulder to shoulder with his best solo work“ - Classic Rock “Graphic and heartfelt to the point of being utterly unmissable.
