China donates $1 million to UN for Palestinian refugees amid ceasefire call as truce extended

China donated $1 million in cash to a UN agency aiding Palestinian refugees affected by the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, aligning with President Xi Jinping’s ceasefire call at the BRICS summit. China’s envoy, Zeng Jixin, signed the donation document, and Karim Amer from UNRWA thanked China for consistent support, expressing hope for cooperation in Gaza. On Wednesday, the UN urged the international community for a two-state solution on the International Day of Solidarity with Palestinian People, commemorated by Chinese President Xi Jinping. Israel and Hamas agreed to extend a temporary truce by another day, involving the release of 10 Israeli hostages per day by Hamas in exchange for 30 Palestinian prisoners. __________________ ShanghaiEye focuses on producing top-quality contents.
