Madeira is an archipelago situated in the North Atlantic Ocean, in a region known as Macronesia, just under 400 km to the north of the Canary islands and 520 km west of Morocco. Funchal the capital is located on the main island`s south coast. Madeira`s population is approximately 250,000. In this video we share some of the most interesting places on the island we visited during our second seven days visit in the last three months. Cristiano Ronaldo International Madeira Airport The Madeira Airport is one of the most challenging in Europe due wind variation and turbulence. This is the only airport in the world with mandatory wind limit. In fact, crews have to take on extra training to land here. Pico do Arieiro This peak has an altitude of 1,818 m and is the island`s third higest peak. This is also one of the most popular sunrise spots.
