Flooding forces road closures as month’s worth of rain set to fall across UK

Flash flooding has forced roads across Britain to shut, after a month’s worth of rain was forecast for Monday. The Environment Agency warned that “persistent heavy rain and thunderstorms” across the country could disrupt travel and flood property. Met Office weather warnings for rain were in place all weekend, and a fresh yellow alert came into effect at midnight on Sunday. It will last all of Monday, covering parts of Wales, much of the south of England, the Midlands and into north-west England and Yorkshire. Read more: #flood #uk #weather
