Moscow and Minsk to deploy ’Oreshnik’ missile in Belarus as response to West’s provocation

Since Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko requested that his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin allow the deployment of the hypersonic Oreshnik ballistic missile system in Belarus, Moscow and Minsk have agreed to transfer the missile in the second half of 2025. The Oreshnik deal is a response to US plans to place medium-range missiles in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region, remarked the Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Belarus Armed Forces, Sergey Lagodyuk.
