Titles read: “ON THE BUS-T - IN PARIS“. Paris, France. Various shots of traffic on busy Paris streets and people crossing roads. We then see several shots of Parisian bus drivers being tested for fitness levels in a clinic - having their height measured, their blood pressure taken, breathing into a tube, having an x-ray. One man is watched carefully as he handles a steering wheel, and takes perception and dazzle tests. Another ’drives’ a dual-controlled fixed chassis, mounted on drums so the wheels turn round. There is a screen before him, showing a film shot from a bus driver’s cab as several distractions and obstructions come up in front of him. A man is taught how to handle the bus on a grease patch. A driver goes out on the road with a few passengers who are really officials testing his ability. Brief shots of a qualified bus driver driving through Paris. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ.
