Battle Of Flowers (1928)

Full titles read: “The Battle of Flowers - in glorious sunshine marks climax of Brilliant Riviera Season.“ Nice, France. Various shots show carnival floats and cars decorated with flowers moving through the streets of Nice; the vehicles throw up quite a dust cloud as they pass; some people from the crowds watching throw flowers (?) onto the floats. Several people walk or ride on horseback beside the floats, some of which are horse drawn. A young girl throws flowers from her flower-covered float. Intertitle reads: “At Villefranche... Gay scenes at beautiful Naval Battle of Flowers.“ Several shots show boats covered with palm and pine leaves, moving slowly along a quayside while the occupants throw flowers and streamers at people sitting on the quay - and vice versa! Good M/S of one of the crowded and well-decorated boats; the occupants, some in Naval uniform, seem to be having a great time; their boat has Chinese lanterns hanging from vines above.
