Round The World With The Pictorial Cameraman On The “Empress Of Britain“ (1933)

Bombay, India. The Gaekwar of Baroda’s elephants are featured in this travelogue. Various shots of the elephants splashing themselves with water. C/U of one of the elephants. He has a name written on his forehead. Man climbs on top of one of the elephants. The elephant swings his trunk around, he has a stick in it. Each time he raises the stick, the man on his back hits his trunk with another stick. An elephant performs a trick involving a stick - it waves it in the air. C/Us of an elephant drinking from a bottle and another being made to smoke a hookah type device through its trunk. Poor thing. Note: title suggests that The Empress of Britain was the ship on which this trip was undertaken - we don’t see the ship. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ.
