Last Living Student of Rachmaninoff - Ruth Slenczynska - Performing at 97!

Ruth Slenczynska has had one of the longest performing careers of any concert pianist. She started performing at the age of 4 and was heralded as one of the greatest child proteges since Mozart! She is still performing the piano and recording at the age of 97! Becoming a concert pianist is all the more remarkable considering her dark past growing up with a father who was described in a book she wrote years ago, “Forbidden Childhood“. Madame Slenczynska had the opportunity to study piano with several musical legends of the piano including, Artur Schanbel, Alfred Cortot, Egon Petri, Josef Hofmann, and Nadia Boulanger.
