New Bury Park Wrestling Is Proud To Have Julia Richey As Schools First State Champ Since 1985

©2021 GetSportsFocus Julia Richey of New Bury Park High’s power move midway in the CIF State Wrestling 235 LB finals match ultimately led to a pin for the crown. Richey was actually trailing 3-2 when she turned the table around as her opponent, senior Rebecca Camacho of Cerritos was going for some back points with a tight power half. Richey used Camacho’s momentum to flip her on her back. Fourteen seconds later, the official pounded the white canvas for the pin and Richey’s had was raised as her high schools first State Champion since 1985.
