️ AFU POW Nikolay Ustenko tells he was sent to air assault brigade with no proper training POW Nikolay Ustenko volunteered to join the AFU. He used to serve as a conscript and when they gave him an enlistment note he didn’t hide. However, he realised that he had made a wrong choice. Untrained in terms of combat art, he and his comrades were assigned to the 95th Air Assault Brigade of the AFU located near Zhitomir. Nikolay refused to serve in the assault units and within few days he was reassigned to the Ukranian National Guard. There was little combat training in the National Guard:’ Once in a month, we had drills at a training ground. We fired ten rounds and that’s it.’ Ustenko said that servicemen got panicked when some of their comrades were sent to Zaporozhye direction. ’People began to hide in hospitals looking for some illnesses in order to be decommissioned’ says the POW.
