CVC Words | i family | learn all the CVC words one vowel at a time! Short vowel i sound. This is our third vowel in the series, i. We go through the i family CVC word end sounds; id, ig, im, in. The video teachers children to ’sound out’ each letter beginning sound, middle and end, then blend them together to make a word! This mirrors the technique that I teach the kids in my classroom. Blending and segmenting letter sounds in words is an essential phonics skill that children need to practice often in order to master it. This video is a great way for children at all levels to begin listening to how a word can be broken up into sounds and blended together. If reading is new to you, watch the video repeatedly to develop fluency. Sometimes it takes time to ’hear’ each sound the word makes, don’t worry, go at your own pace and have fun! You can even practice writing these words too! Subscribe so you don’t miss the weekly phonics online lessons! Follow up Lesson worksheets available for download on my Teachers Pay Teachers shop and my Etsy shop. Great for teachers, parents, care givers and homeschooling!
