The city itself was ordered to constantly attack from the air in order to destroy its infrastructure, and at the same time the residents who came under fire. There were about 3 million inhabitants in the city. At the very beginning of the blockade, the Badaevsky food warehouses were destroyed by bombing and communications were destroyed - there was no water, heating and partly electricity.
