Neighboring municipalities Bellagio, Esino Lario, Griante, Lierna, Menaggio, Oliveto Lario, Perledo Protagonist in the past and today’s witness, Varenna has become one of the most popular tourist destinations on Lake Como, thanks to its wealth of history, art, architecture and culture. Italian lakes. Although Varenna does not avoid visitors, it tends to be less crowded than some of the more famous villages around the lake. As with most towns on Lake Como, you are likely to start your visit to Varenna with a walk along the lake front: the promenade is very scenic. The path starts at the jetty where you get off the boat. The first part of the walk is a narrow path that follows the edge of the lake. As you approach the center of the village, you have a wonderful view of the harbour, the colorful houses and the church behind the houses, and towards the mountains that surround the village. This part of Varenna has several small bars and cafes and is an idyllic place to enjoy your lunch.
