“Dreaming Out Loud“ is a 1940 American comedy film directed by Harold Young and starring Chester Lauck, Norris Goff, and Zasu Pitts. The film is based on the popular radio show “Lum and Abner,“ which featured the comedic duo Lauck and Goff portraying two rural store owners in the fictional town of Pine Ridge. In “Dreaming Out Loud,“ Lum and Abner try to boost business in their store by inventing a new product, but their plans go awry in typical comedic fashion. The film is known for its light-hearted humour and the chemistry between Lauck and Goff, who were beloved by audiences for their portrayals of Lum and Abner on the radio.
