This part contains two Bo kata, 1 Sai kata, and several kata not usually included in the Shotokan Syllabus. Isao Obata (who appeared in Part 1) was a direct student of Shotokan founder Gichin Funakoshi and a founder of the Japan Karate Association (JKA). Master Obata was Master Kazumi Tabata’s teacher. This film was found among Master Tabata’s personal effects after his passing. [Special thanks to Stuart Chassen for the video, and to the original video makers who had the foresight to create what would become a document of historic importance.] This is Part 2 of 2.
