Heat affected koala holds my husbands hand

The incredible moment a koala reached and held my husbands hand, in the middle of the hottest day on record in South Australia 24/1/2019. This was NOT filmed during terrible fires but in the middle of Australian heatwave! Temperatures soured on this Thursday in January. After a long day my husband rounded the last bend before reaching our gate and there he saw a very lethargic Koala sitting on the side of the road. Watch as we do all we can to help this little one gain enough strength to be able to move to safety. * Please note the water is allowed to trickle out, we do not cause risk of aspiration. Facing drought with a river system in chaos and not enough native eucalyptus trees to get their natural moisture source from this sweet little koala drank from a water bottle while we were doing our best to encourage it to move toward the sink we provided so it could cool its paws in the water.
