David Ciente - ROots (Official Music Video)

In the heart of Romania, you can still find places where time seems to have stalled and where people continue living the lives of their ancestors. This video features a rare find. It was shot near Sălciua, Romania, showing men and oxen carrying hay from the haystack to the barn, using their antique wooden-wheeled oxcart. This was a common activity in our ancestors’ routine, but now, it is no more than just a dying tradition. It is a sheer display of ancient masculine power, but in the same time, a good example of the vital partnership between humans and animals throughout history. Thanks to our friends, Ionel-Radu Butură and Ioan Andrei Praja, this activity is a step further from being completely forgotten. They were happy to let us use the footage we shot of them working.
