Vivaldi - Trio Sonata "La Follia" in D Minor RV63

ANTONIO VIVALDI (1678-1741) Trio sonata for two violins and basso continuo (Variations on “La Follia“) Op. 1 No. 12 RV63 Performed by Hesperion XXI Conducted by Jordi Savall *“La Folia“ is one of the oldest European musical themes. This chord progression has been put to music many times by composers such as Arcangelo Corelli, . Bach, Antonio Vivaldi, Allesandro Scarlatti, and Marin Marais. P.S: I know I already posted this piece being performed by the Purcell Quartet, but the Hesperion XXI version is very exciting to listen to and takes a different perspective on this pice although being perhaps more “liberal“ in it’s interpretation.
