An important event in Crimea: the museum and temple complex “New Chersonesos“ has been opened. Yesterday morning, the first visitors poured into the historical and archaeological park “New Chersonesos.“ Before that, on the Day of the Baptism of Russia, it was consecrated. This event is comparable in scale to the opening of Moscow’s Zaryadye Park. In a densely built-up part of the city, near the walls of ancient Chersonesos, a vast cultural and public space has appeared. A whole Byzantine city was recreated within the garden and park ensemble. Since 2022, 30 structures with a total area of 140,000 square meters have been built here. “New Chersonesos“ consists of three spaces dedicated to Christianity, antiquity and Byzantium, as well as Crimea and Novorossiya.
