From “smart“ guns and bombs to artificial intelligence, the war in Gaza has given Israel an opportunity to test and use more futuristic weapons. But Israel’s war arsenal has sparked controversy too. It is believed that Israel’s defence forces have deployed AI-based targeting tools to find and strike targets inside Gaza. Experts have raised questions over the accuracy of these tools. Countries like South Africa have raised this issue at the International Court of Justice (ICJ). Last week, the ICJ asked Israel to halt its offensive in Rafah. Israel is yet to stop its operations.
