BEAR’S DEN interview on the new album “BLUE HOURS“ (out now), songwriting and more

Bear’s Den are a British folk rock band from London. The band consists of Andrew Davie and Kevin Jones. They released four studio albums, and have been nominated for several music awards throughout their career, including for the Ivor Novello Award for Best Song Musically and Lyrically in 2015. On May 13, 2022 Bear’s Den released a new album: “Blue Hours”. The album is built conceptually around the idea of the “blue hours” – an imaginary headspace where self-reflection takes place. It’s unsurprising the band needed a means to process what was happening around them: In late 2019 the pair moved out of London for the first time, and both also discovered they were soon to be fathers. The album explores this “blue hours” state of mind both found themselves in as they ruminated on impending fatherhood, the pandemic and moving away from London. In this video Andrew Davie of Bear’s Den talks to 2 Meter Sessions host Jan Douwe about the new songs, dealing with dark feelings, family and more.
