Automation of Flotation Cells: Digitalisation and modular plant concepts to increase productivity

In flotation cells precise automation of dart valves is crucial to reach outstanding recovery rates. External linkages and old components result in a lack of control accuracy and frequent downtimes due to failures or recalibration of control loops. Applying modern automation results in more stable processes, less numbers of interventions in process control and by that in increased yield in flotation cells. But new distributed control concepts enable also to bring more intelligence into the field and to monitor the process also by installing tools ‘on edge’.
