I’ve been learning production this year and lately Ive been digging into John Ottos drum sound from Limp Bizkits 99’ Album ’Significant Other’. Heres a video testing my drums against a drum-less version of Re-Arranged, a personal favourite from LB. As mentioned, this is all about capturing Johns sound and his vibe from this track. There is ZERO editing to the drums and as Im not playing to a click track it ’breathes’ a little. Its more about a sound and capturing the vibe rather than being perfect, I use Yamaha, Agop, Wincent, Remo, sE Electronic Mics & Apogee hardware.
