The escapade began with Omar and his crew picking me up, entering the enigmatic coordinates into the GPS, and setting off towards Vulture City. As we ventured deeper into the wilderness, the road grew increasingly treacherous, transforming from a dirt path into a bone-rattling obstacle course reminiscent of the old routes used in the town’s gold mining days. Our misadventure took a harrowing turn when we collided with a massive boulder, causing our vehicle’s oil to gush out. Stranded in the unforgiving Death Valley, we faced a dire predicament with no tow trucks or cabs willing to navigate to our exact location. The rental car company advised us to risk driving back to the main road, even though the car was running on fumes.
