GAME RECAP: Penguins at Blue Jackets () | Penguins Finish Home and Home With Blue Jackets

For the second half of their home and home, the Pittsburgh Penguins traveled to Nationwide Arena Saturday night to play the Columbus Blue Jackets for the final time this season. Pittsburgh controlled the first 10 minutes of the game, also receiving the first power play opportunity. Columbus had other plans for the Penguin’s power play and scored a short-handed goal to take the first lead. Mid-way through the 2nd, the Penguins got on the board. Bryan Rust skated the puck down to the hash marks and found Drew O’Connor on the back door for the one-timer to tie the game. With a minute left in the period, the Penguins won the offensive zone faceoff. Once again looking cross-ice, Sidney Crosby saw Rust on the backdoor for the go-ahead goal. Adding to their lead early in the 3rd, Evgeni Malkin rushed the puck up ice and into the zone. Malkin dropped the puck for Rickard Rakell in the high slot.
