Celebrating The Feast Of Oranges And Lemons In France (1938)

Menton, The Riviera, France. Various shots of the celebrations of the Feast of Oranges and Lemons. People wander about gardens and look at flower / fruit displays and a castle made out of oranges (and probably lemons). A large lemon (made from lemons) opens out while revolving on a turntable covered in fruit in the gardens. Girls riding on donkeys throw things to the crowds; other girls dance about. The best job for the girls seems to be sitting in a giant orange (covered with oranges, of course) and throwing things to the people watching. It is difficult to see just what they are throwing - segments of fruit or sweets perhaps? FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITISH PATHÉ TV.
