Rodrigo Rodriguez: “Kogarashi“

This is a piece of genre Modern Honkyoku from the Tozan Ryu - 都山流 School. This piece was composed for Shakuhachi by the Master Nakao Tozan in 1923. Standing in Shiba Park, which had been destroyed in the Great Kanto Earthquake two months before, Nakao Tozan felt the chill wind marking the advent of winter blow through him. He composed this to express his inconsolable desolation.
